Dear
folks: A lot has changed in our world since our last Prez Sez politically and
with the world’s climate crisis.
Such that, with this continual bombardment of our inboxes, radio, TV, and internet all screaming at us at top volumes, this information coming at us is making it a bit harder to — let’s face it — enjoy life.
But what hasn’t changed is our need for good, intimate guitar music that touches us and — yes, I will say it — nourishes us. To find a moment, however brief, of relief from bad thoughts and just experience blissful special moments of uninterrupted pleasant sounds of TGS guitar concerts.
And for some of us, let’s not forget those great
reception parties where we members get together and agree that what we just
heard and experienced was something special, something worthy, and something we
don’t want to live without.
Currently, our bank account has around $3,300 in
it, but we have an existential threat in that we are expecting to spend over
$5,000 on our five concerts this year (four in our regular season and one more
in our newly created summer pop guitar event).
So please help us and yourself in giving a bit more this year. And know that it is important to do it now, before all those other folks asking you for all those other existential threats get it.
Last year’s season was so good that we were slightly terrified we couldn’t keep up that level of artistic talent. But this season, with the remarkable international sensation Marko Topchii as our second concert and the first concert bringing back the Kossler Duo, we are well on the way to another amazing year. But folks, we need your support, and we need it now.
The TGS board thanks you for your generosity, and we all encourage everyone to come out and enjoy another year of guitar concerts with us.
P.S.: The next Gourmet Kingdom TGS members performance opportunity-lunch is Saturday, Oct. 5, at noon, so folks, get your piece(s) ready!Let’s all find some piece of joy this fall.
